26-0070 Kuehler River Crossing

The Rio to Kuehler Water Line Construction project involves the construction of approximately 150 linear feet of 6-inch and 12-inch water main by open-cut, and 520 linear feet of 12-inch water main by horizontal directional drilling under the Guadalupe River. The project also includes the abandonment of the existing water main, connections to the NBU water system, storm water pollution prevention, restoration, and other appurtenances necessary to complete the project. The contractor will be responsible for conducting hydrostatic pressure testing of the installed polyethylene pipe, and for providing and maintaining sediment containment dikes to control erosion during construction. • The project requires the contractor to excavate and backfill trenches, lay pipe, and connect to the existing water system. • The contractor must also provide and maintain sediment containment dikes to control erosion during construction. • The project includes the abandonment of the existing water main, which must be cut and plugged in a manner satisfactory to NBU. • The contractor will be responsible for conducting hydrostatic pressure testing of the installed polyethylene pipe. • The project requires the contractor to restore the site to its original condition, including seeding and mulching, after completion of construction.
