Description

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking information to inform its future Nita M. Lowey Middle East Partnership for Peace Act (MEPPA) program. The program aims to promote people-to-people peacebuilding between Israelis and Palestinians, with a focus on grassroots efforts and capacity building for local organizations. The MEPPA program will provide funding to qualified organizations that help build the foundation for peaceful co-existence between Israelis and Palestinians and support a sustainable two-state solution. Some key areas of focus for the program include: • Positive youth development through educational opportunities • Reducing public health barriers and improving the delivery of quality health services • Building institutional capacities for contingency planning and preparedness • Promoting economic cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians • Addressing gender-based violence and enhancing the role of women in peace and political processes USAID is seeking feedback on its draft activity description, information on capacity strengthening features to prioritize, and help in identifying local organizations that have experience delivering capacity building training for civil society organizations. Interested parties can respond to this RFI by submitting their feedback and information via email to [email protected] by January 20, 2023.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated, but based on the context, it appears that USAID is planning to issue a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in the future, which will provide funding to qualified organizations. Given the program's focus on people-to-people peacebuilding and capacity building, the budget is likely to be in the range of $500,000 to $5 million, depending on the scope and scale of the proposed projects. The budget will depend on various factors, including the number of applicants, the quality of proposals, and the availability of funds.
