Description
The State of Illinois, Department of Agriculture, is issuing an emergency notice for the repair, modernization, and installation of the Grandstand Elevator at the Springfield Fairgrounds. The elevator has been broken down, and tools and equipment are stuck on the upper floors. The project includes removing existing wiring, conduit, and duct, installing new conduit and duct, and providing a new curtain of light, traveling cables, and battery backup. The project also includes the installation of a new cab interior, handrails, bumper rails, and lighting system. The successful bidder will be required to complete the project by the estimated end date of 03/08/2026.
• The project requires the removal of existing wiring, conduit, and duct from the machine room and hoistway.
• The installation of new conduit and duct, properly sized and constructed for the job requirements, in accordance with applicable codes.
• The provision of a new curtain of light, an electronic sensing device that operates across the entrance.
• The removal and replacement of existing traveling cables with new traveling cables, including a second traveling cable for spare wires.
• The provision of battery backup, allowing passengers to safely exit the elevator in the event of a power outage.
• The installation of a new cab interior, including a Horizontal Panel Assembly, handrails, bumper rails, and lighting system.
