Description

The City of Hayward is seeking a comprehensive Drone as First Responder (DFR) solution to enhance emergency response, improve situational awareness, increase officer safety, and support more effective deployment of public safety resources. The solution should include eight unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), consisting of six dock-based aircraft and two patrol-deployed aircraft, as well as software, licensing, implementation services, training, maintenance, and support. The City is looking for a reliable, scalable, and forward-looking DFR solution that delivers rapid aerial response capabilities and supports law enforcement operations through real-time intelligence and enhanced operational awareness. • The proposed solution should support integration with existing and future public safety technologies through open, industry-standard interfaces and vendor-agnostic integration capabilities. • The City encourages innovative solutions that emphasize operational reliability, ease of use, cybersecurity, interoperability, and long-term sustainability. • The selected vendor will be expected to partner with the City throughout implementation and ongoing operations to ensure a reliable, secure, scalable, and sustainable DFR program.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The estimated budget for this opportunity is between $500,000 and $2 million, based on the scope of work and the requirements for the DFR solution. The City is looking for a comprehensive solution that includes hardware, software, implementation services, training, and ongoing support, which suggests a significant investment. However, the exact budget will depend on the proposals received and the negotiations with the selected vendor. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the solution, the number of aircraft and docking stations required, the level of training and support needed, and the vendor's experience and reputation in the industry.
