Insurance Brokerage Services

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is seeking a qualified brokerage to design, market, implement, and manage a cost-effective, comprehensive insurance program to protect the agency, its officers, and employees. The selected respondent will provide services including designing and implementing an insurance program, evaluating proposals, representing the agency in negotiations with insurers, and providing day-to-day support on insurance matters. The contract will be for approximately 12 months, with the option to extend or expand the scope of the contract. Key aspects of the solicitation include: • Designing and implementing a comprehensive insurance program • Evaluating proposals and representing the agency in negotiations with insurers • Providing day-to-day support on insurance matters • Analyzing alternative renewal dates for the property program • Preparing an annual marketing strategy report • Assisting in developing underwriting data and specifications for renewal negotiations • Providing historical data and trend analysis related to property insurance values, premiums, coverage, and claims • Collaborating with the Facilities Manager to solicit the marketplace for required coverage lines • Evaluating the commitment and financial stability of underwriters • Servicing existing policies and requesting endorsements from carriers in a timely manner • Holding quarterly meetings with the Facilities Manager to review loss control, exposure changes, and administrative matters related to the program • Analyzing the agency's loss exposures and coverage adequacy and developing options for coverages not currently purchased • Providing routine advisory support on safety and loss control matters related to the insurance program • Participating in claims review meetings to confirm reserve adequacy and support effective claims management • Coordinating claim information with designated adjusters • Assisting with emergency procedures and disaster planning
