Notice of Intent to Sole Source – Roche Diagnostics

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is issuing a notice of intent to sole source a contract for various Roche Cobas 5800 reagents, controls, and consumables. The Roche COBAS 5800 platform has been evaluated and qualified for testing of various sample types and must be compatible with the current laboratory information system being used within the NIH Department of Transfusion Medicine. The COBAS reagents, consumables, and equipment are proprietary and cannot be interchanged with other manufacturers' instrumentation or reagents. • The contract is for various Roche Cobas 5800 reagents, controls, and consumables. • The Roche COBAS 5800 platform has been evaluated and qualified for testing of various sample types. • The COBAS reagents, consumables, and equipment are proprietary and cannot be interchanged with other manufacturers' instrumentation or reagents. • The contract is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
