Analysis of Protozoa in Groundwater

The Minnesota Department of Health is seeking proposals from environmental laboratories to analyze groundwater sources from public water supplies for Cryptosporidium and Giardia. The contractor will be responsible for providing microbial filters, sample receiving, shipping, and return of sample shipping containers. They will also perform microbial analysis based on EPA Method 1623 with modifications. The contractor must have experience with similar work and provide a detailed work plan, quality assurance program, and cost detail. The contract term is anticipated to be from November 2025 to September 2026, with the option to extend up to one additional two-year period. • The contractor will provide all new pre-certified Elisio 25H ultrafilters with proper preservatives, labels, and packing material for each sample requested. • The contractor will coordinate with the State's sampling personnel to ship filters and associated materials via a commercial courier. • The contractor will perform microbial analysis based on EPA Method 1623 with modifications for tangential flow hollow-fiber ultrafiltration and heat dissociation steps. • The contractor must have experience with similar work and provide a detailed work plan, quality assurance program, and cost detail.
