AN41--INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE UNC PHLP Study

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the University of North Carolina for a mental illness research/study. The contract aims to support the development of actionable knowledge, implementation strategies, and community-informed models that strengthen integration of faith communities and other community assets into Veteran care, moral injury support, and upstream suicide prevention efforts. The contractor will conduct community ecosystem assessment activities, stakeholder engagement, framework development, implementation planning, roadmap development, and dissemination activities. • The contract supports VA Integrative Mental Health efforts to better understand how faith communities, Veteran-serving organizations, healthcare providers, and other community stakeholders can be integrated into coordinated systems of Veteran support. • The contractor will build upon ongoing VA initiatives related to moral injury, community engagement, suicide prevention, and the Collaborating in Care: Ministry and Mental Health (CCMM) initiative. • The work is intended to produce actionable implementation guidance, a Community-Integrated Veteran Care Framework, and a North Carolina Community-Integrated Veteran Care Roadmap.
