Description
The Mississippi State Hospital is seeking a family medicine or internal medicine physician to work as a Contract Worker, serving as the Medical Officer of the Day (MOD). The contract is for an average of 24 hours per week, with a total of 1,248 hours per year, and a contract rate of $90.00 per hour. The contract period is from approximately September 2, 2026, to June 30, 2030. The physician will provide medical care to patients after hours, weekends, and holidays. The applicant must meet the credentialing requirements set forth in the MSH bylaws for appointment to the MSH medical staff and have satisfactory results from a criminal background and a drug screening.
Key requirements include:
• Verifiable Doctor of Medicine Degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from an accredited medical school
• Verifiable completion of at least two years of a family medicine or internal medicine residency program
• Verifiable current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Mississippi
• Verifiable current registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
