Description

As part of the 2026-2027 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council (SMTC) has agreed to complete the LaFayette Road Corridor Study on behalf of the City of Syracuse (City). The study will evaluate LaFayette Rd, from the City line to E Seneca Turnpike, and a small segment of E Seneca Turnpike, from LaFayette Rd to E Brighton Ave. This planning level study seeks to increase the safety for all users of the transportation system with an emphasis on increasing non-motorized mode share along the corridor. For this project, the SMTC is seeking an experienced consultant, or team of consultants, to complete, at minimum, an evaluation of existing conditions; identification of issues; development of recommendations; development of an implementation plan, to include recommendations, cost estimates, potential future funding sources, and project timing (near/mid/long term), and documentation of all these items as outlined in the Request for Proposals. Proposals are due by Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. A copy of the Request for Proposals is available at https://smtcmpo.org/news/rfps/ Business enterprises awarded an identical or substantially similar procurement contract within the past five years: Barton & Loguidice, Creighton Manning Minority / Women Business Enterprise contracting goals (MWBE) MBE Goal: 10.00%

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this project is difficult to estimate without more information on the scope and requirements. However, considering the nature of the project as a transportation corridor study, the budget could be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require a team of consultants with expertise in transportation planning, engineering, and urban planning. The budget may be influenced by factors such as the complexity of the study, the number of stakeholders involved, and the need for specialized software or equipment.
