Grounds Maintenance Contract for Entryways Rebid

The City of Columbia is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide comprehensive mowing and landscaping services for designated highway corridors and City entryways. The contract will be for an initial term of 23 months, with the option to renew or continue with work for two additional one-year periods at the mutual pleasure of both parties. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining seven City locations, highway corridors, and City entryways, and will be required to provide separate pricing for each of five lots. The services shall be provided from March 1 through October 31, with two additional mowing services performed once each during the weeks preceding Thanksgiving and Christmas, for a total of 26 mowing cycles annually. • The contractor must comply with all applicable South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) traffic control requirements, safety regulations, and labor laws. • The contractor must provide a copy of all licenses and certifications as noted within the Scope of Work with the technical response. • The contractor must provide proof of financial responsibility upon request by the City. • The contractor must identify and submit a list of proposed subcontractors with their bid. Some key responsibilities of the contractor include: • Mowing and landscaping services for designated areas • Maintaining grass at a height of two inches • Edging along concrete surfaces, including curbs and sidewalks • Removing debris from hard surfaces and roadways • Trimming and weed-eating non-mowable areas The City reserves the right to award each lot separately or not at all, and may add or remove lots based on the best interest of the City.
