Roadway Weather Information System (RWIS)

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking a vendor to provide maintenance and operation services for a statewide Roadway Weather Information System (RWIS). The RWIS provides location, surface condition, and traffic data to support material choice and application rate decisions during weather events. The selected vendor will be responsible for component replacement, new installations, and maintenance of the RWIS system. The contract will be for a term of 36 months, with an option to renew for an additional 24 months. • The RWIS system consists of various components, including weather stations, traffic cameras, and data management systems. • The vendor will be required to provide technical support and maintenance services to ensure the system operates correctly. • The contract will include provisions for small diverse business (SDB) and veteran business enterprise (VBE) participation. • The vendor will be required to submit monthly reports on their SDB and VBE spend. • The contract will be awarded based on a competitive sealed proposal process, with evaluation criteria including technical merit, cost, and domestic workforce utilization.
