Medical Director

The City of Riverside Fire Department seeks a board‑certified physician to serve as the EMS Medical Director, providing clinical oversight, policy development, training, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance for the department’s pre‑hospital emergency medical services. The contractor will act as the chief medical authority, liaising with hospitals, local EMS agencies, and the fire department, while managing pharmacology and performance metrics over a multi‑year term. • Provide continuous clinical leadership and oversight of all EMS operations. • Develop, update, and enforce medical protocols, training curricula, and quality‑improvement programs. • Ensure full compliance with California EMS regulations, DEA requirements, and medical‑board standards. • Serve as the primary medical liaison between the fire department, hospitals, and external health agencies. • Deliver quarterly reporting and be available for on‑call consultations throughout the contract period.
