Taxiway A Holding Bay

The City of Lakeland is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a holding bay along Taxiway A at Lakeland Linder International Airport. The project aims to create a designated paved area for aircraft to temporarily position and perform pre-departure safety checks without obstructing taxiway traffic. The holding bay will feature one entrance taxiway and two exit taxiways, and the project includes the installation of a new drainage network, FAA-compliant pavement markings, grading, and sod installation. The contractor will also be responsible for installing new LED edge lighting and airfield signage, as well as underground duct banks and conduit to support the new airfield lighting and signage systems. Some key features of the project include: • Construction of a new holding bay area in accordance with Taxiway Design Group V criteria • Installation of a new drainage network and FAA-compliant pavement markings • Grading and sod installation in the infield areas impacted by construction • Installation of new LED edge lighting and airfield signage • Installation of underground duct banks and conduit to support the new airfield lighting and signage systems
