RFP for VMI and General Hardware

The Lansing Board of Water and Light (BWL) is seeking a vendor to implement a comprehensive Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) program and provide essential general maintenance materials. The selected vendor will work closely with BWL to manage inventory levels, ensure a steady supply of materials, and provide high-quality service and support. The VMI program aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure that BWL's operational needs are met promptly and efficiently. Key responsibilities of the vendor include inventory management, material supply, collaboration and communication, reporting requirements, performance metrics, flexibility and responsiveness, and compliance and quality assurance. • The vendor must monitor and manage inventory levels, conduct regular inventory audits, and provide timely insights and recommendations for reorder quantities. • The vendor must ensure a consistent and timely supply of essential general maintenance materials, source and procure high-quality materials from approved suppliers, and coordinate logistics for delivery and warehousing. • The vendor must work cooperatively with BWL team members, establish regular communication channels, and schedule periodic review meetings to assess program effectiveness and discuss improvements. • The vendor must deliver regular reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and inventory turnover rates, and provide feedback and recommendations for inventory optimization. • The vendor must establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the VMI program and review and adjust performance goals in consultation with BWL.
