Electrical System Integrator

The Port of Los Angeles (POLA) is seeking information from parties interested in working as an electrical system integrator (ESI) for a new-build all-electric tugboat. The ESI will be responsible for integrating and supplying equipment for the energy storage and DC power distribution systems. The project includes an option for additional scope as a propulsion system integrator (PSI). The deadline for responses to this RFI is July 31, 2026. • The tugboat will operate entirely within the port, with occasional transits to shipyards. • The tugboat will be unclassed and designed under 46 CFR Subchapter M. • The battery installation will comply with CG-ENG Policy Letter No. 02-19 and ASTM F3353-19. • The ESI should provide a one-line diagram with recommended system architecture, dimensional drawings, datasheets for major equipment, and a plan for maintenance and support. • The PSI scope includes propulsion thrusters and propulsion controls. • Responses will be scored based on cost, technical capability, maintenance and supportability, qualifications and experience, and project references.
