Description
The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive fire‑extinguisher and fire‑hydrant maintenance services for its Central Region facilities. The work includes annual visual inspections, 5‑/6‑year “K‑class” inspections, 12‑year hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers, inspection and testing of fire hydrants, supply of repair parts (markup), and provision of labor and travel rates. All services must be performed on ADOC prison sites, comply with NFPA 10, OSHA 1910.157, and ADOC security requirements, and be documented with proper tagging and reporting. The contract is a 12‑month base period with up to four optional 12‑month extensions, and the award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder on an all‑or‑none basis.
• Scope covers ~280 fire extinguishers and ~30 fire hydrants across 14 correctional facilities in central Alabama.
• Bidders must submit unit‑price rates for each line item (inspection, service, hydrostatic test, hydrant test, parts markup, hourly labor, mileage travel).
