Description

The City of Aurora is seeking a vendor to provide technological solutions for continuous monitoring of the City's water transmission mains. The goal is to use the solution for leak detection and/or condition assessment of the transmission mains to identify issues as they arise or predict when failures may occur. The City aims to create a holistic detection and monitoring program for the distribution system and critical water main. The selected vendor will manage the installation of any sensing devices, troubleshoot technical errors, and maintain the devices. The City may provide additional services such as traffic control, excavation, and water main shut-offs as needed. The vendor should provide a detailed description of their approach, technology, and experience, as well as references and a detailed technical approach. • The City's water transmission mains are approximately 9.4 miles long, with less than one mile of river crossing distribution main. • The vendor should provide equipment and services that allow the City to monitor and determine the health of the critical water main. • The vendor should describe their ability to work with the technology and be a partner to the City in this effort. • The vendor should provide a list of three relevant projects recently completed, including descriptions, locations, contract references, technologies used, and total costs. • The vendor should discuss their firm's experience and capabilities in working with similar projects.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific budget or payment amount. However, based on the scope of work and the fact that the City is seeking a vendor for a comprehensive monitoring program, the budget could potentially be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million, considering the costs of equipment, installation, maintenance, and other services. The actual budget will depend on the vendor's proposal, the City's budget, and the terms of the contract.
