Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is issuing a Sources‑Sought Notice to gauge industry capability for the design, fabrication, integration, testing, packaging, and sustainment of up to five receive‑only satellite ground‑station antenna and radome systems to be installed at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. The effort includes L‑, S‑ and X‑band capability, operation down to –50 °C, and delivery to a logistics hand‑off point in Port Hueneme, California. Responses are due by 5 PM EST on 23 Oct 2026 and must include capability statements, past performance, and cost information. The contract period runs from 2 Mar 2027 to 1 Mar 2028 with an optional one‑year extension. • Up to five four‑meter class, three‑axis, receive‑only antenna assemblies (L/S/X‑band) with radomes. • Full RF front‑end, control & monitor‑and‑control hardware/software, and comprehensive documentation (CDRL‑001 through CDRL‑022). • Must meet –50 °C operational and storage requirements; provide both RHCP and LHCP polarizations (simultaneous optional). • Delivery to Port Hueneme, CA; installation will occur at McMurdo Station, Antarctica (government‑provided site infrastructure). • Submission deadline: 5 PM EST, Friday 23 Oct 2026; primary contact: Tamalia Adams (Contracting Officer).

Budget estimate

$25,000,000 – $75,000,000

Based on similar satellite ground‑station antenna contracts, a four‑meter, multi‑band, cold‑weather antenna system (including radome, RF front‑end, control units, testing, packaging, and documentation) typically costs between $5 million and $15 million per unit. For up to five systems, the total contract value is likely in the $25 million to $75 million range, depending on options (e.g., integrated IFL transport, optional front‑end processors) and support services. Thus, a reasonable estimate for the entire award is $25 M‑$75 M.
