Draft RFP - Mars Telecommunications Network (MTN)

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has released a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Mars Telecommunications Network (MTN) acquisition. The MTN is a project aimed at developing a telecommunications network for Mars. The draft RFP provides an overview of the project requirements, including the development of a Mars telecommunications orbiter. Potential offerors are encouraged to submit nonbinding information addressing their statutory eligibility and to provide comments on the draft RFP. • The MTN project requires the development of a Mars telecommunications orbiter. • The draft RFP includes a revised Attachment B, which provides the Mars Telecommunications Network Objectives and Requirements Document. • Potential offerors are encouraged to submit abstracts summarizing their relevant capabilities and experiences. • The government will review submissions and schedule one-on-one meetings based on relevance and time availability. • The industry day will be held on April 9, 2026, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
