Description
The City of Gadsden is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to perform Nuisance Abatement Grass Cutting Services on City Lots, State Lots, Private Lots, and Land Bank Authority Lots within the City of Gadsden, Alabama. The contract shall be for one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. The contractor shall provide the necessary tools, equipment, materials, and labor required to provide complete grass cutting and debris removal services. The contractor shall submit an invoice for payment every two weeks for each lot cut during the preceding two-week period.
• The City of Gadsden will supply each contractor a website link to track work completed on each lot.
• The Building Department will submit the addresses of the approved lots for cutting to the contractor.
• The approved square footage for each lot will be used to calculate the payments due.
• The contractor shall have access to and readily available the required equipment, including a 30 HP minimum tractor, 4’ minimum rotary cutter attachment, vehicle or vehicle and trailer, string trimmer, blower, and lawn mower.
• The contractor shall take special care to direct clippings away from adjacent lots, parked vehicles, sidewalks, roadway, gutters, drainage inlets, houses, outbuildings, or any other structures, shrubs, flower and tree beds, and any other items.
• The contractor shall not use any form of herbicide during the execution of this contract.
• The contractor shall have and maintain adequate staffing, personnel, and equipment needed to fulfill the obligations of this contract.
• The contractor may be asked by the City to mow property on short notice and must be prepared to handle these requests within 48 hours.
