Description
The City of Lynchburg is seeking bids for the renovation of Peaks View Park Fields 8 and 9. The project includes fine-grading an existing 5-acre multipurpose field complex, installing drainage, tilling in compost, and sprigging Tahoma 31 Bermuda grass. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project. The project must be substantially completed by July 1, 2026.
• The project includes erosion and sediment control plans with field grading and associated civil details.
• The contractor will be required to install silt fencing and attach it to the existing chain link fence.
• The contractor will be required to construct swales on the sidelines with four low points to drain through 8" C900 PVC pipes underneath the existing fence to daylight.
• The contractor will be required to install riprap at the four pipe outfalls and stabilize them with blankets and matting.
• The contractor will be responsible for hiring a surveyor to check the entire field to ensure the proper grade has been established.
• The contractor will be required to provide a 6-month warranty against construction damage to the irrigation system and a warranty for the grade of the entire playing field.
