Description
The Shelby County Board of Education (SCBE) is seeking a full‑service architecture and engineering firm to design three new school facilities—a high school and two K‑8 schools—in Shelby County, Tennessee. The contract is structured as a time‑and‑material, one‑year agreement with a “not‑to‑exceed” reimbursable fee. The scope covers all design phases (programming through construction documents), sustainability, ADA compliance, low‑voltage and Energy Management System design, and requires use of the SCBE design guidelines and the PROCORE platform. Vendors must meet extensive documentation, insurance, MWBE participation, local‑preference, and background‑check requirements.
• Design and engineering for three new schools (≈ 215 k sf high school; two ≈ 172 k sf K‑8 schools)
• All disciplines required: civil, structural, architectural, MEP, fire protection, IT, security, EMS, acoustics, interior design, etc.
• Must deliver a phased design schedule, “not‑to‑exceed” fee, and manage daily activities under SCBE supervision
• Mandatory insurance limits, MWBE participation (9‑10.5%), local vendor preference, fingerprint/background checks, and E‑Verify compliance
• Submission deadline Oct 6 2021 11:00 AM CST; offer validity 120 days; contract term up to 1 year
