Roof Maintenance at the Eureka WFO

The National Weather Service (NWS) requires roof maintenance at the Weather Forecast Office (WFO) located in Eureka, CA. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform the work in accordance with the Statement of Work. The period of performance is 120 calendar days after receipt of the notice to proceed. The contractor must clean and maintain the existing roofs on the WFO and generator building, which are asphalt shingles. The estimated square footage of the WFO's roof is 8,850 square feet, and the generator building roof is 600 square feet. • The contractor shall verify all measurements and acquire all permitting related to this work. • The contractor shall clear gutters and downspouts to allow for unrestricted water flow. • The contractor shall clear roofs by removing all branches, leaves, and debris that retain moisture and encourage moss and mold growth. • The contractor shall clean all roof surfaces to remove moss, dirt, and surface contaminants. • The contractor shall report any damaged areas in need of repair to the NWS Technical Point of Contact (TPOC). • The contractor shall make all necessary repairs that are revealed by inspection to include replacement of damaged or deteriorating shingles and other surface defects with compatible patching materials.
