Interpreter Services for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The Allegany County Public Schools is seeking bids for interpreter services for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. The contract will be for the 2026-2027 school year, with the possibility of renewal for one academic year. The selected vendor will provide interpreting services to students in accordance with IDEA, COMAR, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Section 504. The services will be provided for the entire length of the student's school day, with the schedule and length of the day set to benefit the students and county personnel served. The vendor will be required to provide fluent interpreters who are appropriately trained and supervised, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. • The contract period is from August 25, 2026, to June 8, 2027, with extended school year services from June 22, 2026, to July 31, 2026. • The vendor will be paid on an hourly basis, with Allegany County Public Schools paying 100% of the charges for direct services provided to a student. • The vendor will be required to provide billing backup and participate in quarterly audits. • The vendor will be required to maintain appropriate insurance and provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming ACPS as an additional insured.
