Bilter Road Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Engineering Services

The City of Aurora is seeking a qualified engineering consultant to provide Phase I engineering services for the Bilter Road Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). The project involves the construction of high friction surface treatment on the curves of Bilter Road and the installation of a rectangular rapid flashing beacon for the Illinois Prairie Path crossing of Bilter Road. The consultant will be responsible for performing field and office civil engineering services, including data collection, topographic surveys, environmental assessments, and traffic studies. The consultant must have experience with federally funded projects and IDOT procedures. • The project has an estimated construction cost of $1,530,000. • The project has been awarded $1,377,000 of HSIP funding for construction. • Phase II and Phase III engineering services will be procured separately. • The consultant must be prequalified in "Highways - Roads and Streets" and "Special Studies - Safety" by the Illinois Department of Transportation. • The consultant must provide a detailed schedule of anticipated start dates and completion dates for major tasks. • The consultant must have experience with similar types of projects and must be familiar with IDOT procedures.
