NOI - Smiths Detection Maintenance (Sole Source)

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole source, firm fixed price contract with Smith's Detection for the purpose of procuring warranty and maintenance for existing Smith's Detection Mailguard Screening systems and machines. The contract will support the FBI's Logistics Unit by advancing the technologies and expanding the range of detection discs which accurately detect threats such as Anthrax, Ricin, and Ebola. The warranty and maintenance support integration with x-ray technologies to provide high sensitivity and ultra-low false alarm rates. • The contract is for a one-time, sole source, firm fixed price purchase order. • The contract will be awarded to Smith's Detection for the purpose of procuring Smith's Detection warranty and maintenance for Mail Guards. • The warranty and maintenance will support equipment used for daily mail inspections. • The mail guards detect 6 agents: Anthrax, ricin, botulism, tularemia, smallpox, plague. • The volume is variable depending on screening needs.
