WRDS Subscription

Description: Baruch College has awarded a single-source contract to Wharton Research Data Services DBA Trustees of the U of Pennsylvania to ensure continued access to a range of database subscriptions that are not available through the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) contract. This procurement is essential to support the College’s curriculum and services, providing faculty, staff, and students with critical academic resources. Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is the sole provider of this proprietary research platform and database. WRDS offers exclusive access to an integrated data management system that hosts a collection of financial, economic, and marketing data from multiple vendors in a unified interface. To maintain uninterrupted access to these essential resources, Baruch College seeks to engage Wharton Research Data Services under a five (5) year single-source agreement. The databases to be procured include: WRDS Cloud - A WRDS NYSE TAQ Access Fee Reason for Exemption from Advertising: In accordance with State Finance Law § 163 and NYS procurement guidelines, a formal exemption from advertising was approved on the grounds of Single Source. Competitive solicitation was deemed impractical as only one vendor can meet the College’s specific requirements. This notice is being posted pursuant to the post advertisement requirement following exemption approval.
