GENERAL COUNSEL (MCIF) / LITIGATION MANAGER

The Morris County Insurance Fund is seeking a General Counsel/Litigation Manager to provide services on an as-needed basis. The selected attorney will be responsible for attending Insurance Fund meetings, advising and consulting with the Commissioners and Risk Manager, and providing advice on negotiation of settlements. The attorney will also be responsible for maintaining contact with approved attorneys assigned to various cases and providing ongoing supervision. The contract will be for a period of one year, commencing on January 1, 2026, and ending on December 31, 2026. The hourly rate for the services will be $195.00. Key responsibilities include: • Attend Insurance Fund meetings as directed by the Commissioners • Be responsive to and available on an as-needed basis to confer with the Commissioners, the Broker, the TPA, and the Risk Manager • Advise and consult with the Commissioners and the Risk Manager regarding requested general counsel/litigation and liability matters • Provide advice on negotiation of settlements • Maintain contact with approved attorneys assigned to various cases and provide ongoing supervision • Report to the Commissioners any updates or issues pertinent to litigation or liability • Review and approve attorney invoices
