HYDRO-AXING SERVICES ON PLEASURE ISLAND BID

The City of Port Arthur is seeking bids for hydro-axing services on Pleasure Island. The project involves clearing approximately 65 acres of land, removing invasive species, and preparing the site for future greenspace development and tree planting initiatives. The selected contractor will be responsible for performing hydro-axing, clearing invasive trees and brush, treating designated grassland and overgrown areas, and leaving all mulched material evenly distributed on-site. The contractor must have demonstrated experience with hydro-axing/forestry mulching projects of similar scale, proper licensing and insurance, and the ability to complete the work within the agreed project timeline. • The project location is Pleasure Island Golf Course Property – HydroAxe Area. • The project size is approximately 72.5 total acres, with 65 serviceable acres excluding ponds and pathways. • The primary objective is to remove invasive species, especially Chinese tallow, and prepare the land for future greenspace development and large-scale tree planting. • The contractor must operate equipment in a manner that minimizes soil compaction and erosion. • The contractor must avoid disturbance to existing ponds and water features, established pathways, and access roads.
