NAVFACSYSCOM NORTHWEST Request for Information (RFI) Shipyard Infrastructure and Optimization Program (SIOP) P454 Multi-Mission Dry Dock (M2D2)

The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is seeking information for the construction of a Multi-Mission Dry Dock (M2D2) at the Shipyard Infrastructure and Optimization Program (SIOP) P454. The project involves building a reinforced concrete pressure relieved multi-mission dry dock with caisson to support various nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The construction will include various features such as bulkheads, quay walls, stairs, enclosed utility galleries, electrical and mechanical utility tunnels, and more. The project also includes the procurement of equipment such as a ship-style floating caisson gate and electrified 40-foot gauge portal cranes. • The project supports the USS FORD (CVN-78) class and USS NIMITZ (CVN-68) class nuclear aircraft carriers, as well as all fleet nuclear submarine classes. • The construction utilizes upland groundwater cutoff walls and cofferdam systems. • The project includes fire protection, information technology, automated control systems, and dry dock process water collection system. • The construction will include 40-foot gauge portal crane tracks, sanitary sewer, mechanical and electrical utilities, saltwater and freshwater fire protection, information and communications systems, and lighting.
