Description
The City of Big Rapids is soliciting sealed competitive bids to construct new ADA‑compliant sidewalks (referred to as “Safe Walkways”) on two locations: the west side of 100 Hutchinson St. and the west side of 700 Division St. The work includes demolition of existing concrete, site preparation, formwork, concrete placement, and post‑construction site restoration. The contract will require a 5 % bid security, performance and payment bonds equal to the contract price, and a suite of insurance coverages. Payment will be made via progress billings tied to specific work milestones, with retainage held until final acceptance. Liquidated damages and strict timelines are imposed to ensure timely completion.
