Description
The project involves the construction of landfill Cells 12B & 13 and the relining of the County's leachate lagoon at the landfill in Wilmington, NC. The construction period is 270 days from the notice to proceed to substantial completion and an additional 30 days to final completion. The project includes site preparation, grading, placement of the liner system, placement of the soil cover systems, associated hauling and perimeter roads, stormwater management systems, leachate collection piping, sump and pumps, electrical and control panels, and rain tarp.
• The project requires a mandatory pre-bid conference.
• Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina.
• The project involves a secure landfill expansion.
• The bidder shall make good faith efforts to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities.
• All prime bidders on this project must be pre-qualified in accordance with New Hanover County's Pre-qualification Ordinance.
