Raleigh-Durham ATCT Elevator Assessment and Repair

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified contractors to assess and repair the elevator at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport Air Traffic Control Tower. The selected contractor will be expected to diagnose the existing elevator malfunction, provide all necessary labor and materials to complete the repairs, and ensure that the elevator is restored to safe and reliable operation. The contractor must have at least three years of experience performing commercial elevator repair services and be licensed to perform elevator repairs and inspections in the state of North Carolina. The scope of work includes assessing and diagnosing the elevator malfunction, providing all necessary repairs, performing testing and inspections, obtaining the required operating certification, and providing a written inspection report. • The elevator is currently out of service due to inaccurate floor leveling and passenger entrapment incidents. • A previous drive replacement did not resolve the issue. • The contractor must ensure that the elevator is restored to safe and reliable operation and passes the required annual inspection and five-year load test. • The contractor must provide a minimum one-year warranty on repairs and a minimum elevator operational availability of 97%. • The contractor must comply with applicable ASME A17.1, ADA, International Building Code (IBC), and North Carolina Elevator Code requirements.
