Professional Site Design and Engineering Plans for LAMTD Transit Bus Stops

The Lakeland Area Mass Transit District is seeking a consultant to provide professional site design and engineering services for the development of 16 bus stop improvement engineering plans. The purpose of this project is to enhance the accessibility, safety, and functionality of bus stops within the transit system. The selected consultant will be responsible for generating comprehensive plans that comply with all relevant standards and guidelines, ensuring acceptance by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The project includes detailed engineered site plan design, construction documents, and cost estimates for construction. The consultant will also be required to coordinate with local agencies and stakeholders throughout the design process. • The project requires the consultant to assess the existing conditions of the current bus stops and identify shortcomings and improvement opportunities. • The consultant must collaborate with LAMTD staff to gather input and understand transit riders' needs and preferences. • The consultant will be required to review existing transit plans and city regulations to meet land use, zoning, and mobility requirements. • The consultant must provide conceptual design plans for each of the 16 bus stop locations and prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for each bus stop improvement project. • The consultant will be required to participate in stakeholder meetings to present design concepts and gather feedback. • The consultant must produce final 100% design plans (engineer stamped) based on stakeholder feedback and prepare submissions for FDOT review and approval.
