Description

The City of Oxnard is seeking an experienced vendor to grant a Franchise for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) for public and City fleet vehicles. The selected vendor will be responsible for all costs associated with the use of City property and deployment of EVSE, with exclusive EVSE rights on City-owned properties. The vendor will provide a comprehensive network of EVSE, including Level II and Level III DCFC charging stations, with no financial support from the City. The vendor will also provide an Annual Summary Report and Monthly purchase activity reports to the City. Some key points to consider: • The City is looking for a vendor to provide EV charging services for both public and fleet vehicles • The vendor will be responsible for designing, constructing, installing, owning, operating, and maintaining the EVSE • The vendor will have exclusive EVSE rights on City-owned properties • The City is seeking a self-sustaining business model, with the vendor paying for all costs associated with the deployment and operation of EVSE • The vendor will provide an Annual Summary Report and Monthly purchase activity reports to the City

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the City is seeking a self-sustaining business model with the vendor paying for all costs associated with the deployment and operation of EVSE. However, considering the scope of the project, including the installation of EV charging stations at multiple locations, the estimated budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000 per year, depending on the number of charging stations, usage, and revenue generated from charging fees. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include: - The number of charging stations installed and their usage - The revenue generated from charging fees - The costs associated with the deployment and operation of EVSE - The negotiated Franchise Fee with the City
