The City of Long Beach is seeking a qualified contractor to design, install, and commission an electric‑vehicle fast‑charging depot at its Fleet Services campus, including five dual‑port DC fast chargers, associated electrical infrastructure, and a 600 kWh‑plus Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The work encompasses demolition, civil site improvements, electrical distribution, fire‑safety systems, and full testing/commissioning, with a performance schedule of 180 calendar days. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and must comply with California prevailing‑wage, Project Labor Agreement, and Small‑Business Enterprise goals.
• Install five 400 kW dual‑port DC fast chargers (owner‑provided ChargePoint equipment).
• Provide all low‑voltage switchgear, transformers, conduit, wiring, concrete foundations, curb, and parking‑lot modifications.
• Integrate a 600 kWh / 800 kW BESS with fire‑protection, HVAC, and remote monitoring controls.
• Meet strict safety, fire, and electrical code requirements (NEC, NFPA 855, UL 9540A) and submit extensive documentation (warranties, O&M manuals, certified payroll, SBE compliance).
