Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products/services that can provide a plasma cleaner system for transmission electron microscope holders. The system should be able to remove hydrocarbons and other contaminants from the holders and other bulk items/specimens. The plasma cleaner tool is intended to support the scanning electron microscope, focused ion beam, and transmission electron microscope instruments in the NIST Precision Imaging Facility. Key requirements for the plasma cleaner system include: • The ability to remove hydrocarbons and other contaminants using a radio frequency plasma with one or more process gases • A graphical user interface to control all functions of the system • The ability to accommodate two transmission electron microscope holders and other bulk items/specimens • The ability to accommodate at least three process gases, including argon, oxygen, and hydrogen • A vacuum system with oil-free components and full control from the user interface Respondents should provide information about their company, the equipment they sell, and its technical specifications, as well as any relevant experience and customer references.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the notice is for market research purposes and does not specify a budget or contract value. However, based on the complexity of the plasma cleaner system and the requirements specified, it is possible that the contract value could be in the range of $50,000 to $500,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of the equipment, the level of customization required, and the services provided by the vendor.
