Description

The City of Detroit is seeking implementation partners to provide low-barrier access to health care services, including Street Medicine and walk-in clinics, for individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness and other underserved populations. The goal is to reduce overdose deaths and improve health outcomes by removing barriers to substance use disorder treatment and health care. Proposals should include a description of the organization's experience, capacity, and approach to providing these services, as well as a pricing and budget proposal. The City is looking for innovative approaches that address key barriers to care and prioritize proposals from non-profit organizations and those with experience serving individuals experiencing homelessness. Key aspects of the project include: • Providing low-barrier access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and health care services • Delivering services in non-traditional settings, such as street medicine and walk-in clinics • Connecting individuals with emergency shelter and housing navigation, as well as to street outreach teams • Reducing barriers to accessing methadone as an alternative treatment option • Appointing dedicated clinic leadership to oversee the expanded scope of services • Offering referrals to ongoing follow-up care for interested individuals
