Description

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is seeking applications from eligible healthcare providers to become primary or secondary providers of the Mississippi WISEWOMAN Program (MS-WWP). The program aims to extend preventive health services for participants aged 35-64 years old of the Mississippi Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (MS-BCCP) to support optimal cardiovascular health. The selected providers will be responsible for determining patient eligibility, enrolling eligible individuals, and providing comprehensive health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose tests. The providers will also be required to develop a system to ensure women with alert values are referred for a medical workup and arrange free or low-cost medical care as needed. Some key points to consider: • The program targets uninsured or underinsured women who are at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, aged 35 to 64 years, for heart and cardiovascular disease screening services. • High priority populations for MS-WWP are underinsured Black, Hispanic, and Asian/Pacific Islander women who are at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, aged 35 to 64 years, with uncontrolled hypertension, heart and cardiovascular disease, in rural and urban communities. • The program requires providers to participate in the Mississippi Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (MACH) Learning Collaborative to improve cardiovascular health outcomes. • The selected providers will be required to submit quarterly performance reports and a final expenditure report to MSDH.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $150,000

The budget for this opportunity is estimated to be around $100,000, as stated in the RFA. However, the actual budget may vary depending on the number of providers selected and the services rendered. The budget is expected to be a fee-for-service arrangement, with providers being reimbursed for their usual, customary, and reasonable (UCR) rates for services, but not exceeding the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published Medicare Part B Participating Health Care Provider rate or fee for the date of service.
