Description
The Maritime Administration (MARAD) is seeking a state-licensed marine insurance broker to provide brokerage and consultancy services for the placement, management, and administration of marine insurance Protection & Indemnity (P&I) coverage for MARAD-owned vessels. The selected broker will be responsible for canvassing the P&I club market, advising MARAD on P&I coverage risks and costs, placing P&I fleet coverage on an annual basis, and supporting MARAD with insurance claim processing.
Some key aspects of the job include:
• Providing brokerage and consultancy services to MARAD and the State Maritime Academies (SMAs)
• Placing and managing a fleet P&I coverage policy with maximum club limits for the training ships
• Canvassing the P&I club market to obtain the best value for fleet coverage of P&I risks
• Advising MARAD on appropriate P&I coverage risks and costs
• Supporting MARAD with insurance claim processing with the insurer
