Description
The State of Maine’s Department of Environmental Protection is conducting market research to identify qualified third‑party reviewers capable of evaluating a range of financial‑assurance mechanisms (e.g., letters of credit, surety bonds, escrow accounts, trusts) for solid‑waste facilities and related trust agreements. Respondents will provide information on their expertise, suggested qualifications, and any recommendations for regulatory updates. No cost proposals are requested, and the RFI does not lead to a guaranteed award.
• Review and assess various financial‑assurance documents to ensure compliance with Maine statutes and federal regulations.
• Supply the DEP with qualifications, experience, and suggested criteria for future contract solicitations.
• Submit responses via the Maine Vendor Self Service System by the September 7, 2026 deadline, after any questions are addressed by August 17, 2026.
