Description

The BRAIN Initiative's Brain Behavior Quantification and Synchronization (BBQS) Program aims to support the development of tools for high-resolution, multimodal tracking of complex behaviors synchronously with neural activity. The program seeks to advance methods to capture and model complex behavior at the organismal level in dynamic environments. Required objectives include advancing sensing technologies and approaches for minimally intrusive, high-resolution, synchronous measurement of multiple biobehavioral functions, and developing analytic and computational approaches that will lead to new, testable models of neurobehavioral function as a complex dynamic system shaped by the organism's environment. • The program will support transdisciplinary research involving human subjects and/or other species. • Participation in consortium activities will be required. • The program is authorized under 42 U.S.C. 241&284 and 114 U.S.C. 255. • The estimated funding for the program is $8,000,000, with an estimated 10 awards.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $1,000,000

Based on the estimated funding of $8,000,000 and the estimated 10 awards, the budget for each award is likely to be around $800,000. However, this is just an estimate, and the actual budget may vary depending on the specific requirements of the project and the qualifications of the applicants. The funding amount may also be influenced by the complexity of the research, the number of personnel involved, and the duration of the project.
