Description

The Town of Los Gatos is seeking a qualified consulting firm to conduct a classification and compensation study for its 154 full-time job classifications. The study aims to attract and retain qualified employees, ensure positions with similar responsibilities are classified comparatively, outline career pathways, and update job classifications to reflect current duties and organizational needs. The selected consultant will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating job descriptions, conducting interviews and job audits, and providing recommendations for changes to existing classifications or new classifications. The consultant will also be required to participate in the meet and confer process with bargaining units and present information to the Town Council as needed. • The study will involve reviewing and evaluating 99 full-time Town classifications and related classification "families" through a phased approach. • The consultant will conduct a comprehensive review of each job classification, including questionnaires, interviews, and analysis of essential duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities. • The consultant will provide a final report summarizing the study's purpose, methodology, key findings, and recommendations. • The consultant will be required to commence work as soon as possible and no later than within two weeks of the Notice to Proceed. • The initial term of the agreement is anticipated to be for one year, with options to renew for up to four additional one-year terms.
