Description
The US Navy is seeking a contractor to provide zinc plating services for parts made of HY-80 material. The contractor will be required to clean and prepare the parts, and then apply a zinc plating finish with a yellow chromate color. The plating process must maintain the critical dimensions of the parts, including the spline and internal diameters/keyways. The contractor will need to follow the specifications outlined in the attached documents, including the "what not to plate" attachment. Some key requirements include:
• The material is HY-80 per spec NAVSEA TM T9074-BD-GIB-010/0300
• The Brinell hardness is 200-260 HB
• The parts shall be plated everywhere except within the spline and keyway
• The finish/color should be yellow chromate
• The HRC is 15-26
The contractor will need to demonstrate their ability to meet these requirements and provide high-quality zinc plating services.
