Description
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is seeking Statements of Qualifications from prospective Design-Builders to design and construct the Mystic River Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge. The project includes advancing highway design, bridge design, construction of a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge, landscaping, and coordination with stakeholders. The selected Design-Builder will be required to provide a final, complete project design that is stamped and sealed by their own designer of record, for review and approval by MassDOT, DCR, and possible third parties.
• The project is expected to cost around $53,000,000.
• The project includes advancing highway design through 75% and 100% (Final) Highway and Construction of all elements.
• The project includes advancing Bridge design through First and Second Structural and Bridge Submittals and Issued for Construction Structural and through Construction of all elements.
• The project includes construction of a new pedestrian & bicycle bridge over the Mystic River.
• The project includes landscaping with new, designed plantings and restoration of disturbed areas within the Project limits.
• The project includes landscape architecture with brick, paver, and/or patterned concrete surfaces.
• The project includes design of stormwater drainage features for inclusion in the highway design plans.
• The project includes coordination during design and construction with stakeholders, State/ Municipal officials, including DCR, MBTA, and local businesses, including Encore Boston Harbor, in conjunction with MassDOT.
• The project includes coordination with City of Everett and City of Somerville and third-party stakeholders.
• The project includes community outreach program in conjunction with MassDOT, including maintenance of the Project website to distribute current construction information.
• The project includes compliance with applicable regulatory approvals and permits issued prior to Notice to Proceed and any amendments or reevaluation made during construction.
• The project includes construction mitigation and permitting compliance.
• The project includes providing protection measures while working near resource areas.
• The project includes providing erosion control measures.
• The project includes construction dust and noise mitigation.
• The project includes coordination with adjacent construction projects.
• The project includes design of new pedestrian & aesthetic lighting systems on the bridge and approaches.
• The project includes design and connectivity of a new CCTV system for security video cameras.
• The project includes stabilization of seawall on Everett approach.
