Description
The US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is seeking support services for the Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program (PIECP). The program aims to encourage states and counties to establish employment opportunities for inmates that approximate those found in the private sector. The scope of work includes providing logistical, administrative, management, and support services to ensure PIECP certificate holders meet statutory requirements and guidelines. The contractor will assist BJA with planning and ongoing activities, provide technical assistance to entities interested in applying for a PIECP certificate, and conduct site assessments. Key tasks include developing assessment forms, preparing documents, and conducting presentations. The contract type is anticipated to be Time & Material, with a base year and four option years commencing October 1, 2026.
• Providing technical assistance to PIECP certificate holders and CACs
• Conducting site assessments and developing compliance reports
• Assisting entities interested in applying for a PIECP certificate
• Coordinating with other federal agencies and stakeholders
• Providing training and technical assistance functions as necessary
