Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a contractor to provide janitorial and grounds maintenance services at the Hillcrest Safety Roadside Rest Area in Shasta County. The contractor will be responsible for performing daily janitorial services, including cleaning toilets, sinks, floors, and windows, as well as maintaining the grounds, including emptying trash cans and cleaning picnic tables. The contract is expected to commence on May 1, 2026, and expire on October 31, 2028. The contractor must be a certified Small Business (SB) or Micro Business (MB) and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to employment, insurance, and environmental protection.
Some key responsibilities of the contractor include:
• Cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the rest stop, including toilets, sinks, floors, and windows
• Maintaining the grounds, including emptying trash cans and cleaning picnic tables
• Providing all necessary labor, supplies, materials, equipment, and tools to perform the work
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to employment, insurance, and environmental protection
• Maintaining accurate records and submitting reports as required
