FY25 NewAthena WFI ASIC Design and Testing Services

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking capability statements from interested parties for the design and testing of the Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) for the Wide Field Imager (WFI) instrument on the NewAthena spacecraft. The ASIC, termed VERITAS, is a critical component of the WFI and will be used for readout of the DEPFET pixel arrays. NASA is looking for technical support in developing the VERITAS and is seeking responses from all interested parties, including small businesses and historically black colleges and universities. • The VERITAS is a highly specialized multi-channel readout ASIC for DEPFET arrays. • The WFI is a silicon depleted p-channel field effect transistor (DEPFET) active pixel sensor camera. • The NewAthena spacecraft is intended to combine a large X-ray telescope with state-of-the-art scientific instruments. • Responses should be submitted electronically via email to Chris Jenkins and Kelly Collins by January 19, 2026, 12:00 PM EST.
