The Town of Colonie is seeking a qualified forestry consultant to assist with timber sales planning and administration for the Town's Stony Creek Reservoir property. The consultant will be responsible for managing harvest activities, including inventory, marking, and tallying trees, as well as assisting with the preparation of bid documents and contracts. The consultant will also be responsible for supervising the actual harvest and ensuring compliance with timber sales contracts. • The consultant must have experience in log scale accounting, log marketing, and preparation of log purchase agreements. • The consultant must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry or wildlife biology from an accredited university or 20 years of documented professional forestry work. • The consultant must have demonstrated experience in timber harvest management and administration. • The consultant must be familiar with accepted municipal forestry practices in New York State. • The consultant must be able to perform all aspects of anticipated projects, including long-range planning and management, planning for and supervision of invasive and competing species control efforts, and assistance in the preparation of bid documents.
